Western Boots

Western boots, also known as cowboy boots, are immensely popular here in Montana. And probably not surprising - considering the huge number of ranches. Western boots are an ideal ranch boot, especially if the person also happens to spend considerable time on a horse.

Western boots are so popular in Montana because they are, quite simply, very functional - along with being very "traditional." Cowboy boots/Western boots provide a number of advantages, which include.

Durability : Cowboy boots, at least good ones, are made of very high quality leather and are generally hand-made. As such, they are immensely durable.
Ease of Care : Taking care of western boots is easy. Just keep them clean and apply some conditioner from time to time will allow the boot to have a very long life expectancy.
Riding : Cowboy boots, due to their design, are the ideal riding boot out of the riding arena (and even in it, too). The design of a cowboy boot prevents the riders foot from being caught in the stirrup - always a bad thing, especially if you happen to fall.
Ankle Support : Cowboy boots, due to their height, provide rock solid ankle support - preventing many a broken ankle in rough terrain.
Lower Leg Protection : Western boots, also due to their height, provide some protection to a persons lower leg. While not important in the city or town, when out in the country the boot provides for protection against thorns, nasty sticks, sagebrush and the occasional snake bite (most snakes strike humans on the lower third of the leg).
