There are many
fine digital cameras on the market today. I personally
have
had experience with Canon digital cameras. A Canon A40 digital
camera was used to take all the photographs at this website
(now replaced by the Canon A75 digital camera). My Canon
A40
has been reliable, simple to use and has very powerful features.
It's also affordable. As such, I highly recommend Canon
digital
camera products, and the Canon A40-A75 in particular.
Since I'm quite
pleased with my Canon A40 digital camera, and have been

Comments: The new Canon A80 digital camera is an
excellent 4-mexapixel camera that is also reasonably
priced.
The
PowerShot A80 offers a 4-megapixel CCD sensor that

11 x 14 inch enlargements.

The
Canon A80 digital camera is a great camera for people
looking for a 4 MP camera. Basically, the A80 is
the A75 with an additional megapixel thrown in for
higher resolution. Whether or not you actually need
this resolution is a different
story,
though.
Most photo printers only print up images to a max
size of 11 x 14 inches - which is the resolution
found on a 3 megapixel camera. However, the higher resolution
does allow for a larger image size - which does provide
for some flexibility in cropping down images.
Overall,
unless you need larger images, I would personally
stick with the Canon A75 (shown below) - but that

the Canon lens quality insures sharp,
crisp photos. Secondly, and equally importantly,
the image stabilization system insures
that photographs taken at maximum zoom
come out in focus (the IS system gets
rid of/greatly reduces camera shake).
Overall,
the Canon Powershot S1 IS digital camera is an ideal
choice for people in search of a very versatile and
flexible digital camera. While it is more expensive
than the Powershot A75 and A80, the price isn't that
much more, generally coming in at $400 - $450 range.

Comments: The Canon A60 is an excellent 2 mega-pixel
digital camera, and replaced the 2002 model - the
A40 (the camera used for all 1500+ photos on the
site). This camera is still available but probably
not for much longer, as it has been replaced
by the new A75. Right now this camera has an awesome
price, less than $150 at Amazon last time I looked.
The
PowerShot A60 offers a 2-megapixel CCD sensor that
produces images up to 1600x1200. It is the ideal
camera for web photography and graphics.

kind of photography, a 2 mega-pixel camera
is all you will ever need - as the 1600x1200
resolution allows for full size printed
photographs of 8.5 x 11 inches. I'm not
sure how much longer this camera will
be around, though, as 2 mega-pixel cameras
do seem to be a "dying" breed.
Overall,
for an inexpensive point and shoot digital camera
that also happens to have full manual controls and
takes awesome images, the Canon A60 is tough to beat.
