| This picture was taken from the summit of Big Mountain Ski Area. The towering peaks in the distance are the high mountains of Glaicer National Park. On days like this, where an inversion takes place, it is truly an awesome site. Big Mountain provides absolutely wonderful views of Glacier National Park on clear days. As a sidenote, the ski run seen here (Russ's Street) is one of the few traditionally icy spots on Big Mountain. This happens because the upper section of Russ's street feeds into many other trails - leading to lots of traffic. The trails southern exposure also allows it to occasionally melt and then freeze - leading to ice. |
