view of hte Mission Mountains and Lower Flathead Valley. While
not in the picture, you can also see Flathead Lake from this vantage
point, too. Once upon a time, the valley below was covered in water
- almost to a height of where this picture was taken! The water
was caused by the ice dams that formed Lake Missoula - the massive
lake that occasionally burst through the ice dams and caused massive
floods. |
