Blacktail Ski Area Pictures

This picture was taken skiing down from the crystal double chair and looks up towards the summit of Blacktail Mountain. As you can see, Blacktail lies below tree line - meaning there are trees all the way to the top of the mountain. Another reason Blacktail Ski Area is so heavily wooded in is because it was built over areas that have been heavily logged in the past. As such, the mountain is heavily wooded in by lots and lots of small diameter, but tall, trees.
