| This photographs does a nice job of showing the entire Headwaters Area and Castle Rock Peak. It was taken from the Elkhorn ski trail - an intermediate run that is probably the best intermediate trail at Moonlight Basin ski resort. The Headwaters and Castle Rock Peak are all part of the ski resort and can be accessed by hiking up to the knife-like ridge from the top of the six-shooter chairlift. The terrain is serious expert level terrain with steep, narrow chutes. |
