Wind Blown Terrain on Exosed Ski Runs

Teton Pass ski area, owing to its location on the east side of the continental divide, can be a windy place. As such, the snow can really get blown around. Combine that with lots of sunshine and you end up with some thin cover at times on southern exposed slopes that also catch the wind. This otherwise uninspiring photograph shows that - numerous deep snow pockets seperated at times by some pretty skimpy cover. Thus, when skiing in this type of terrain, keep a close eye out ahead of you for rocks, "humps", and some brown spots.
