The Trapper Creek Fire burned with various degrees of intensity in the area that the Loop Trail passes through. This portion was burned moderately - as while the ground cover as sprung back up just a year later, it isn't nearly as thick as areas that were only burnt over "lightly" (i.e. - it was burned, but not at a very high temperature, thus not damaging the soil).
