The tall mountain in this picture is Numa Peak, which has an elevation of 9003 feet. This photo was taken at the foot of Bowman Lake, which sort of gets dwarfed by the tall mountains that surround it. The elevation of Bowman Lake is 4030 feet. Thus, it is a long way up to reach the top of Numa Peak. A hiking trail, called the Numa Lookout Trail, leads up to a lookout tower that sits on the shoulder of the lower mountain that is in front of Numa Peak, at an elevation of 7000 feet. You get a great view from this lookout - so if you are up for a hike with a lot of vertical - be sure to take this trail.
