Larger pontoon boats, designed for two or more people, are a relatively new breed of boat. Until recently, pontoon boats were largely considered the one-man portable fly fishing platform. Anyone who needed a larger fishing platform would either buy a large inflatable raft or, at least out west, use a drift boat.

Yet, with the increasingly popularity of fly fishing, it is not suprising I guess that larger pontoon boats have been developed. These boats do offer benefits not found in other platforms.
