This is West
Butte, the furthest west of the three buttes that compose the Sweet
Grass Hills in north central Montana. West Butte has an elevation
of 6983 feet, making it the tallest of the three. Trees in this
part of Montana are rather rare, and are generally only found in
scattered pockets here and there. West Butte, due to its higher
elevation, is the most wooded of the three buttes. |
