Harlowtown
hasn't done too much to restore its downtown area, for whatever
reason. However, it has done a superb job in preserving and restoring
its railroad history. Seen here is the old Harlowtown train depot,
with an old Milwaukee Road switch engine and a colorful outhouse
in the foreground. The railroad that use to run through Harlowtown
was the Milwaukee Road.
When
the
railroad
folded
years
ago, Harlowtown
and the businesses
that depended on rail transportation were left "high and dry" as
no other rail line moved in. |
