This picture looks down on the strip mines that lie to the east of Butte. The picture was taken from the small hill just outside of downtown. You can see in this picture how much of the famed "hill" in Butte has been removed to mine the ore. The mountains in the distance are part of the Continental Divide - albeit some of the smaller ones.
