This picture was taken from just below the Miners Memorial and looks down on the Berkeley Pitt Strip Mine. You can also see the legacy that more than 100 years of active mining left in this part of Butte - with a scattering of grass and a few trees/bushes providing a scant ground cover among the myriad of rock, metals and dirt.
