This is the
remains of what appears to be either a small corral or an outbuilding
of some kind. And it is very, very old. This picture, which was
taken just a mile or so to the south of the Missouri River, does
a nice job of highlighting some of the massive plains that are
found in this area. Generally, the plains are thinly forested -
at best. But, the plains are surrounded by steep draws and gullies
that tend to be quite wooded. In this picture, the trees you see
off to the right lead down a gully that makes its way down to the
Missouri River. |
