| This is one of the areas we hunted for elk in the Missouri Breaks area of Montana. The elk are especially fond of this particular area for a number of reasons - not the least of which is that the terrain provides spectacular cover. The areas numerous deep draws and gullies are all heavily wooded - providing splendid cover. And since the area outside of these gullies and draws is quite open, the elk can see anyone coming from a very long ways away. And should you happen to sneak up on them from above, they are likely to hear you coming as you make your way through the thick forests. |
