This photo
does a nice job capturing the nearly countless draws and gullies
that exist within the Missouri Breaks. All these draws make hunting
rather difficult - and not just physically because you get to explore
them all. The elk, during the days, hide in these gullies - especially
the wooded ones. And because there are so many of them - exploring
them all is less than easy and frequently leads to little success.
And, if that wasn't enough, in the event you see an elk, you are
likely to have little time to shoot since the cover and terrain
in this area isn't friendly to the hunter trying to get off a quick
shot. |
