Photos of the Crazy Mountains Backcountry Drive

The Crazy Mountains Backcountry Drive is an enjoyable, 40-mile trip between the tiny towns of Two Dot and Melville. The trip follows the eastern front of the Crazy Mountains in Central Montana. A one-way side-trip off the route, which I call the Northern Crazy Mountains Backcountry Drive, also leads to some spectacular views. Photographs of both of these drives are shown on this page.

Unfortunately, as can be seen by the photos, I had lousy weather when I drove these two routes. Thus, the viewer will need to use their "imagination" a bit to realize how truly fantastic the scenery here is.
