Bowman Lake in Glacier
National Park. Bowman Lake is reached by a long, dusty and very bumpy
ride up the North Fork Road, which runs between Columbia Falls and the
metropolis of Polebridge (bring your own electricity, as electricity hasn't
made it quite yet to this part of Montana). From Polebridge, you then hop
on a slow, meandering and rather rough road for 6 miles before ending up
on the shore of the lake. It's a unpleasant drive...but well worth it.
