This picture was taken at what pretty much every hiker uses a a lunch
stop on the Highline Trail - the open, relatively flat area right behind
Haystack Butte where a sort of "informal pass" exists. You
get a great view of Glacier National Park from here, since you can see
both to the North and to the South of Haystack Butte. This particular
picture looks towards the North and the Upper McDonald Creek Valley.
If you look closely, you can see some of the burnt areas that were scorched
by the Trapper Creek Fire in 2003.
