October is a great time to hike the Iceberg
Lake Trail in Glacier National
Park due to the changing of the seasons. While Glacier doesn't have the "colorful" falls
like New England has (due to all the pine forests), the underbrush in
the fall turns a myriad of colors. All that was missing in this picture
is some snow up in the mountains - an event that normally happens in
October but didn't happen in 2003 (a year of fires, drought and high
heat).
