Huge Meadows and Open Fields in the Gravelly Range
One of the striking things about the Gravelly Range mountains are the massive, high-elevation fields and meadows. Few Montana mountain ranges have this (usually they'll have some meadows, but they don't go on and on seemingly forever like they do in the Gravelly Range). It is these rolling, open meadows - combined with the beautiful views of many mountains - that make a trip down the Gravelly Range Road Backcountry Drive such an enjoyable excursion.
