Thunderstorm in the Gravelly Range
Even with four-wheel drive, seeing a big thunderstorm while driving the route isn't a welcome sight. Having driven wet roads in the Gravelly Range before, I know what happens - the road turns slick and sticky. Mud sticks to the tires and then gets flung all over the vehicle as it eventually gets tossed off from the tires as speed increases. While there's no danger of really getting stuck if you have 4wd when the road is wet, a wet road guarantees that your vehicle will be spending lots of time at a car wash to get all the mud off.
