Other Home Based Web Businesses

If you read our Home Based Web Business Guide, you know by now that I make my living online with this website. I do this through a vehicle called affiliate marketing, which allows me to earn commissions on sales of products I advertise on the site. This business has been great to me and really is a perfect fit between my lifestyle, my interests and my knowledge.

Yet, this type of business isn't for everyone. I've tried to convince several friends to do this but their motivation and/or interest wasn't in it. I suspect the reason for this is because Big Sky Fishing is such a huge site - people look at it and wonder how on earth they could find the time to develop a site like this that would allow them to earn a living. Additionally, web publishing is NOT for you if you do not enjoy writing - something I've begun to realize is way more common than I previously thought!

So, in interest of helping visitors locate other home based web businesses, I've compiled some listings of other web business programs that may be of interest. Please note, while I've gone to some lengths to make sure that these home based web business programs are legitimate (they won't take your money and run), I can not vouch for it, as I've never used them. You may also want to read the FTC warning about what to look out for in work at home businesses (they are especially cautious about "envelope stuffing" and "medical billing" businesses - with good reason).

A word to the wise. I've never used any of these programs, but it doesn't mean they don't work (I tanked as an Amway sales person but know plenty who make good, legitimate money from it). Like any home based web business, each of the offers shown below will best serve particular individuals based on their knowledge, needs, interest and commitment levels. Just like affiliate marketing (which I do with this website), any home based business requires work and dedication. None of these offers will make you rich without this.

My advice is to simply get information about offers that seem interesting to you. Since most of these programs require no money upfront, you really have nothing to lose by looking at it. Robert Allen is one of the driving figures behind developing multiple streams of income, whether those income streams be big or small. This program essentially helps you find ways to create for yourself sources of revenue streams - some big, some small (both online and off). I like Robert Allen - I find his advice to be common sense and helpful.

This program is definitely worth checking out. If you need ideas on how to create wealth, this program seems like a great place to start (I've read several Robert Allen books and really enjoyed them).

What this program does is have you take a survey and then matches you up with a home business based on what you put into the survey. Result should be a home business idea that matches your needs and interests.

They provide very generous profits on the items that you sell. This strikes me as a good business idea for someone who likes to sell "real goods" and/or has a retail establishement or retail booth already. Chocolate consumption can increase income! - This is one of the more"different" businesses I've come across, for sure. You also don't have to worry about spending you're money and getting ripped off - this program is well known for delivering the products it advertises.

And while the work isn't easy - an Ebay is a very legitimate business for someone who has the knack of finding items to sell that will be profitable on ebay. If you are in search of money to start up a small business of your own, this site is worth a visit.

Free Government Money  - This site offers a book that provides complete listings of all governmental grants (state and federal). Good resource to have if you need money to start up a business.

Get Paid to be a Movie Extra  - I'm not in show business, but this site seemed to provide a rather neat way to make some extra change doing something pretty fun. Site sells a book that can assist you in getting those "extra" slots in hollywood and TV movies - nationwide.
