This is Siyeh Creek, with Mt. Siyeh rising in the background (right) and Cataract Mountain (left). This is the "infamous" scene where I got charged by a Grizzly Bear in July of 2000. I got charged by the bear just about 1/4 mile up the Siyeh Bend Trail, which begins here. Unfortunately, the Bear Spray blew back in my face! Ouch! The bear soon left (perhaps laughing) and I stumbled down the trail and waded right into Siyeh Creek in a vain effort to get that stuff out of my eyes and off my face. The water was about 33 degrees in temperature, but I hardly noticed, despite the 40 mph wind. A day in Glacier National Park that will be long remembered. Photo Date : June 3rd, 2003
