This is the first sight you will see when entering Glacier National Park at the St. Mary entrance station on the east side of the park. This is a beautiful scene, both in the photo, and in real life! During the winter months, elk are commonly seen hanging out in this scenic little valley - munching on the plentiful grass. St. Mary Lake lies less than half a mile away from the ranger station entrance.
