Haystack Butte in Glacier National Park. During the spring and early summer, water from all the meltin snow cascades down from the high peaks along the Continental Divide. The water has eroded away much of the rock, leading to an interesting "staircase" effect. The water, when viewed up close, seems to roll down these staircases. As summer wears on and the snow melts, much of the free flowing water in Glacier Park sort of disappears. Photo Date : June 3rd, 2003
