This photograph shows the fire line (in the distance), of where the
Trapper Creek Fire just seemed to "stop". This location is
easy to find - all the trees in front of it are completely dead and even
the ground cover hasn't fully returned yet (so it was burning hot in
this section). Yet, just a stone throw away, the vegetation grows as
normal. More than likely, some environmental condition set in that limited
the growth of the Trapper Creek Fire in this direction. It is also possible
that Glacier Park fire crews created a fire line, too, so as to protect
the Granite Park Chalet.
