The Pioneer Mountains Scenic Byway is a forty-nine mile remote, paved drive through the heart of the Pioneer Mountains in Southwest Montana. The byway runs between Highway 278 (to the west of Dillon) and Wise River, which sits along the Big Hole River. Highlights of the trip include excellent views of the Pioneer Mountains, the Wise River, great camping opportunities and easy access to the historic Coolidge Ghost Town.
