Coolidge Ghost Town in the Pioneer Mountains
Coolidge Ghost Town is simple to reach when traveling down the Pioneer Mountains Scenic Byway. Several signs point to a gravel side road that heads to the east. The side road is just a few miles long and ends at a small parking lot. From the parking lot, it's just a half-mile flat hike up to Coolidge Ghost Town, a very well preserved reminder of the importance mining played in Montana's history. Dozens of buildings (and their remains) still stand in Coolidge.
