The southern portion of the drive is, in my opinion, the most scenic. Between Judith Gap and where the Big Snowy Mountains Backcountry Drive turns north toward Lewistown, the scenic drive passes through a massive upland grassland, with the peaks of Big Snowy Mountains rising steeply above it.
