Pretty Countryside Along the Kootenai River in Montana
The Kootenai River, which is one of the larger rivers in Montana, flows through attractive country between Libby Dam and Libby. The Lake Koocanusa Scenic Byway closely follows the rivers, allowing for many informal spots to pull over to take in the sights or do some fishing (although a fishing boat is generally needed to have the best chance of success when fishing the Kootenai River).
