Another View of Libby Dam in Northwest Montana
Lake Koocanusa was formed by the creation of Libby Dam on the Kootenai River. Libby Dam is 3055 feet long and stands 422 feet high. Right below the dam is some of the finest trout fishing for "monster trout" in Montana.
This view of the dam can be seen while driving the Lake Koocanusa Scenic Byway. There's a little pull-off so parking and sightseeing is easy.
