The Kootenai River in Montana
The Lake Koocanusa Scenic Byway closely follows the Kootenai River between Libby Dam and the town of Libby. There are many turnouts that provide not just fine vistas, but also serve as informal fishing access sites (the Kootenai River has excellent fishing, although a fishing boat is generally needed due to the rivers large size.)
