Photos of the Missouri Breaks Backcountry Byway
The Missouri Breaks National Backcountry Byway is a remote forty-seven mile (one-way) drive through the rugged Missouri Breaks region of Montana. The byway runs between Winifred, Montana, and Highway 191 at the Kipp Recreation Area along the Missouri River.
Since this drive is "technical" in nature and because every single web site I've read about this backcountry byway are full of errors, and because the BLM web site provides little information about this drive (although what little info is provided is correct, sort of), I've put extra time into describing the photos seen on this site. Thus, if you actually plan on driving this byway (and it's a wonderful drive), I strongly suggest reading the captions beneath each photo instead of just breezing through the photos.
