Missouri Breaks Country, Photo #1
The Missouri Breaks region of Montana is characterized by steep hills, numerous hidden draws, and scattered forests. Thankfully, for much of the drive along the Byway, the road follows the "top" of the breaks. By that, I mean the byway avoids most of the hills. It tends to run along the top-edge of the steep stuff, for the most part avoiding the worse of the hills. The other benefit is that by running along the top-edge, the views of the Missouri Breaks region is excellent.
